This post I’m going to show you the fastest way to lose belly fat. I know this from first hand experience as well as from the results of others. When I started exercising my first goal was to drop my body fat percentage to under 15%. I had a lot of excess fat around my midsection, particularly my thighs, hips.
“I didn’t like the feel of my pants getting tighter and with the warmer months just around the corner I wanted to lose lower belly fat quick.
I wasn’t going to medicate myself with Hydroxycut or any fat burning pills. I simply wanted a safe, natural and fast way to lose belly fat.
Like most people who are sick and tired of feeling sick and tired I was motivated to get started. I joined my local YMCA and like a lot of exercisers my ‘fat burning exercises’ consisted of the traditional routine that I knew and was familiar with. Basically, lengthy and moderately paced aerobic activity between the treadmill, elliptical trainer, or stair climber making sure to keep my heart rate within my zone.
My educated understanding was that if you wanted to lose belly fat fast the best and most efficient route is aerobic exercise 5x’s a week for 40 minutes each session. I didn’t realize until later that this traditional and popular approach to fat burning is totally NOT efficient.
What’s wrong with the traditional way to losing belly fat?
Extended and moderately paced aerobic workouts will help you temporarily lose belly fat. Temporarily because in short order your body adapts and begins storing fat to prepare for the next workout. Ouch!
I know that hurts, but the truth is that the traditional approach to burning body fat actually signals your body to store up more fat to burn later. So, even though you burn fat and calories during your 40 minute elliptical routine, as soon as you’re done your body starts storing up more fat for next time. Studies have proven this as well.
That’s like taking one step forward to take one step back. No wonder it’s so difficult to lose belly fat!
The other problem that you may or may not realize is that your extended workouts 4-5 times weekly train your heart, muscles, lungs, (basically your whole body) to become super efficient. You’ve probably noticed how the same or similar workout gets easier pretty quick.
Though that may seem really good, it actually is bad for your overall long term health. The reason is because you’re only staying within a consistent aerobic limit. Even if you vary your exercise routine or machine like I did, without improving your aerobic capacity you are actually degrading your over all long term health while programing it store more fat.
The traditional approach is not the fastest way to lose belly fat.
